Logo Requirements for Your Website

Providing the correct logo files ensures your website looks sharp, professional, and consistent across all devices.

Preferred Logo File Types

High-quality logo files help maintain clarity and crispness across your entire website, from the header to the footer.

  • PNG (transparent background preferred)
  • SVG (vector format — best quality)
  • High-resolution JPG
  • PDF (vector format if available)

Why transparency matters: Transparent logos allow us to place your logo on different backgrounds without unwanted borders or boxes around it.

Quick tip

If you have multiple versions of your logo file (PNG, SVG, PDF), feel free to send them all. We’ll select the best option for web use.

Logo Placement Examples

Different areas of your website require different logo sizes and formats.

COMMON LOGO PLACEMENT AREAS

  • Website header logo

  • Mobile navigation logo

  • Footer logo

  • Favicon (small browser icon)

  • Social media profile images

Why logo placement matters:

Different areas of your website use different logo sizes and formats. A logo that looks great in the main header may need a simplified or resized version for mobile screens, footers, or browser icons.

Providing these versions upfront helps us maintain a consistent brand appearance across your entire website while avoiding stretching, distortion, or poor-quality display.

Logo Versions to Provide

Multiple logo versions give us the flexibility to place your brand cleanly in different areas of your site, from navigation bars to footers and mobile menus.

Recommended versions

  • Primary company logo
  • Logo with transparent background
  • Light version (for dark backgrounds)
  • Dark version (for light backgrounds)
  • Square version (if available)

Why multiple versions? A logo that looks perfect in the main header might need a simplified or alternate version for smaller spaces, dark backgrounds, or mobile screens.

Providing these options upfront helps us keep your brand consistent and avoids stretching, distorting, or forcing your logo into spaces where it doesn’t fit well.

Logo Size Recommendations

Larger, high-resolution logo files give us flexibility to resize for different areas of your site without losing quality or appearing pixelated.

Minimum size

At least 1000 pixels wide

Preferred size

2000 pixels or larger

Larger files allow us to resize your logo down as needed without losing sharpness. Small logos that need to be enlarged can quickly become blurry or jagged.

File size vs. dimensions: It’s perfectly fine if your logo file size (in MB) is large. We will optimize it for web performance while keeping the quality intact.

If you’re unsure about dimensions, send the original logo file from your designer or brand package and we’ll take care of the rest.

Brand Colors and Fonts

Your brand colors and fonts help us maintain a cohesive, on-brand look throughout your website so everything feels connected to your logo and visual identity.

Please provide:

  • Primary brand color
  • Secondary brand color
  • Hex color codes (if known)
  • Font names (if available)

If you have a brand guide or style guide PDF, you can send that as well. We’ll extract your exact colors and typography directly from it.

Example

Primary Color: #1E73BE

Secondary Color: #10B981

Fonts: Headline: Plus Jakarta Sans, Body: Inter Tight (or similar clean sans-serif fonts).

What to Avoid

Certain file types and logo sources can cause issues during design and development, leading to blurry or inconsistent branding on your site.

  • Screenshots of logos
  • Blurry images
  • Logos downloaded from social media
  • Very small images
  • Logos with heavy backgrounds

Why these cause problems: Screenshots and small or blurry images usually can’t be cleaned up enough for high-quality web use. Logos pulled from social media are often compressed and may include unwanted colors or shapes.

Heavy backgrounds (solid blocks, gradients, or photos behind the logo) make it difficult to integrate your logo cleanly into different sections of your site.

Helpful reminder

Your logo represents your brand. Providing high-quality logo files helps us create a polished, professional website that reflects your business.

If you're unsure whether your logo file will work, send it anyway — we'll review it and make sure it's ready for your website.
